More Mainstream
Coverage
Outside
Magazine
gives
us a nod:
"Here are five of the wildest records ever
chronicled by Guinness:
2.
Darren Lott slid 65.24 miles per hour on a wheeled
butt board down a residential street in Fountain
Hills, Arizona."
Pretty cool to
be in the same company as
6,
the flight attenndant who survived a 33,330-foot
fall without a parachute.
Check out thier August 2005 issuue.
MTV's "Call to
Greatness"
promises
to give us another world record.
We're currently working with them to establish
the World's Fastest Buttboard relay. Five riders
down a dream course that's otherwise off
limits.

Another weekend. Another two

unprecendented Birthday
Buttboarding
Bash.
Next week is the BIG WET ONE.

last year's coverage
(it's the last bit o sunshine you'll be aseein

If you are in the States, don't
forget the Talimena Drive Xtreme Downhill on June
15, 16 in Oklahoma. F6

Kingdom.
Plus another repeat victory by
Andy
Lally.

Happy Cinco de
Mayo!
We've been recently remiss on
updating the site due to other Buttboarding
priorites. But we continue to receive pictures for
the GALLERY. We've added three new pages. (Look for
the new "Calvinator"). It starts with
Gallery
9.
The sport is VERY HEALTHY and
GROWING. In fact, web-site time was occupied in
December, when Santa placed a bunch of last minute
emergency orders. Another very important project
was also being completed (more about this in a
later issue) which has taken priority over the
Buttboarding video. For your patience, we'll
release more footage soon.
The Message
Board is still quite
active.
We've got exclusive
crash photos from the
last West LA College final, and added two new
Legends - Chris
Chaput and
Chase
Orta.
Dr. P.J. Love contributes
another exclusive. This time a Spy
Report on the upcoming F-6
Oklahoma event. (We'll
need Buttboarding pictures and results, so please
bring pencil and camera.)
The BIG EVENT is the upcoming
Aviemore Scotland Championship. This is the
currently the longest and fastest race course in
the world. And the WORLDs FASTEST RIDERS will be
there. Check out the Aviemore
Race Web Site and also
look at
last year's coverage to
rekindle a feel for the hill.
Gentlemen - start your
engines!

Valuable FAQ
added
Almost a book about Buttboarding
unto itself, we've added an extensive
FAQ
and reorganized "What's a Buttboard?"
We also added Dr. P.J. Love's
coverage
of the Traws event. It
has a Hysterical Buttboarding movie at the end
produced by "Doctor Danger" Todd O'Neill. Make sure
to check it out!
A new book called
"Street
Luge: Extreme Sports"
(John Nichols) has hit the bookstores. We believe
it to be the first to feature actual photos of
Buttboard racing, and it even has a link to this
site!

Flash Gordon Wins
Blackhill Nationals!
Buttboarding continues to take
the world by storm. South Africa has held its first
Nationals
competition, sanctioned
by IGSA. Check the event coverage from what details
we could pick up on this event. Also check the
Gallery to see why we call him "Flash
Gordon."
In sadder news, legend
Bob
Ozman was badly injured
testing a new hill and required surgery to repair
his broken hip. Please send get well cards

Told you
so!
On Oct 22 we predicted
this would happen. Dave Rogers is unstoppable. He
wins Regionals. He's won a World Cup. He's won at
Hot Heels (twice!) and now the US
Nationals. Read about
his shameless gluttany for gold.
I really want to thank Kent
Kochheiser, Chris McBride, and Sheman Stebbins for
sending me pictures so quickly. It enabled a timely
update of the Events and Legends sections. Now,
which reader will be first to notice the update and
post to the Buttboarding message board?
John Nichols wote an
updated
children's book on
Street Luge. This one has several pictures of
Buttboarding and even a side bar mentioning
www.Buttboarding.com! Beautifully done, if you buy
it through our link, Gravity Publishing gets a 5%
commission.
The Message
Board has been picking
up steam, and was even blessed by a visit from THE
MAN himself, Stefan
Wagner.

Cinderella
Story!
This has to be every guys
fantasy. After riding only two months,
Andy
Lally WINS the
Bainbridge
Ohio race. Of course his
car racing experience didn't hurt (his team just
won the 24 of Daytona). We'll be watching him
closely at Barrett Junction next week.
We've added a link to a
Message
Board which is hosted by
NCDSA specifically for Buttboarding.

Dave Rogers Does it
Again!
Is this really old news from the
Hot Heels Championship, or just a prediction of the
upcoming Barrett Junction results? Stop by in a few
weeks to find out.
Were waiting on our contributing
Photographers to cough up the goods, but usually
they have their own sites to glamorize first. In
the meantime, were updating rider profiles and
hunting for facts and pictures. Got any?
The Rio trip was excellent,
yielding a Buttboarding billboard (Coke advert) as
we pulled into town, and some excellent
Buttboarding footage if I don't sell it to
"Jackass" first.
I've also decided the "Cover
Shot" should always follow the '"Buttboarding
Babes" Theme. Nicole
Chaput graces the front page this round. Currently
scouting for new talent!
If your hunt around the site,
you'll find things being updated and some new
additions. For the less patient, I'll try to make
them more obvious when I hit a fully stocked new
edition.

Hot Heels is upon
us!
The World Chapionship of
Buttboarding is just around the corner. Check out
the Hot
Heels Site for the most
recent info on getting there.
The "Aviemore Wrap Up" has been
editied for Buttboarding specific content and more
news added. Also pictures to go along with it.
Check out the Events Coverage for the latest. Or
navigate through the latest listing under "Racing
Champions."
Check out Previous News if you
haven't visited since June 2.
Again a plea goes out if you
have any news on the events which we haven't
covered properly. Action photos are greatly
appreciated. Also, we are preparing the next set of
Gallery pages, and there it's everyone's chance to
shine.
Next stop....Austrian Alps for
some very Hot Heels !

May was Buttboard Racing
month!
May saw Buttboard races in
Austria, South Africa, California, and Scotland.
We'll cover Scotland as soon as enough pictures
come in to do it justice. For those who don't think
this sport is taking off, well, what are you?
Crazy?
"Racing Champions" (left column)
now features the latest Champion's mug shot. At
least until the next hot shot takes the gold. This
displaces the Movie Trailer for now. At least until
we have a new version ready.
The IGSA World Cup Point Series
is well underway. We won't tell you the current
results until the Scotland coverage. But suffice to
say we have a new set of leaders! Hot Heels will be
the next race with World Cup level
points.

Buttboard race season
going great guns!
Hardly a month since the last
update and we're already several races behind. We
continue to update the site with new event stories
and the stream of new Legends
pours in. (Although we need more personal info on a
few of those listed).
We did have time to complete
coverage on several more past Events
and complete the Quiz
on What's a Buttboard.
The IGSA World
Cup Point Series is well
underway. Gerhard Lanz and Jeremy Gilder have
squeeked ahead of Dave Rogers and Darren Lott by
virtue of a higher ranked race in Europe. But with
only 2 points races for each of the riders it is
still anyone's series when they take their top 4
finishes.
The sport continue to show very
health progress with a record number of events and
a record number of racers.
A new children's book on Street
Luge is underway and promises to mention
Buttboarding. A Museum in Canada is preparing an
exhibit which featues a Hot Heels photo by
Kent
Kochheiser. Races and
riders are developing in South Africa. All good
news.
A plea goes out if you have any
news on the events which we haven't covered. Action
photos are greatly appreciated!
Next
stop....Scotland.

Welcome to the launch of
ButtBoarding.com.!
Chris Chaput got me excited
about doing a new web site and offered to share his
server and domain name (buttboarders.com). Jeffrey
Schonzeit also offered to let me borrow a domain
name (buttboard.com). I got started but my
attention kept pulling me more to the importance of
my video project :ButtBoarding.
Suddenly it all came
together!
This site is going to follow my
same criteria for completeness and accuracy as
these guys expected. The sport deserves it. But it
will also be a launch platform for the movie. And I
can showcase Trailers as it progresses!
If you liked "Street
Luge Survival Guide"
you'll LOVE "Buttboarding: The Movie."
Buttboarding is new enough that
we can capture every event so far. This
includes early "Demo" events which have been
critical for getting the sport going. My plan is to
continually add the newest CHAMPION to the top of
the list (on the left). This will be a link to the
event results, pics and participants. Events with
significant attendance (32+ field) rate a bold
listing.
Racers who have a podium finish
or make the finals in the World Championship (Hot
Heels) get a racer profile amongst the
"Legends."
This is so we know who to watch on the start
line.
"What's a Buttboard?" is where
the rules are. We've included a fun picture based
quiz regarding what's race legal.
Winning races is not the most
important aspect of the sport. Having a great time
is! So the "Gallery"
section will be the collection of people around the
world having a great time. Please submit pics by
email. We are looking for new people, new
buttboards, new locations. Pics should be
interesting high quality jpegs and only the best
shots get included.
Equipment includes the
manufactures and sources for this great sport. Be
sure to check out Chris's ChapButt
boards!
